Angela & Daniel: A Cinematic Persian Union at Castello di Rosciano

Persian Heritage For Angela and Daniel, a sophisticated couple from the United States, their wedding was an opportunity to blend the epic scale of Italian history with the intricate beauty of their Persian roots. They sought a venue that offered a sense of “Dramatic Mystery”—a place where the stones themselves tell a story. IWP Italian Wedding Planners (Sposiamovi group) designed a two-day residency (May 26–27, 2022) at Castello di Rosciano, turning the fortress into a private sanctuary of culture and timeless style.

The aesthetic was a deliberate nod to Vintage Italy. From the iconic Vespa arrivals provided by Slow Hills to the dramatic lighting of the castle ramparts, the celebration felt like a high-fashion editorial set in the golden age of Italian cinema.

The Setting: Epic Mountain Views & Stone Grandeur

Castello di Rosciano is one of Umbria’s most evocative landmarks. Perched on a hill with 360-degree views of the Apennine Mountains, it offers a sense of absolute seclusion and architectural power. For American couples who want a “Castle Wedding” that feels authentic and rugged rather than manicured, Rosciano is the definitive choice.

The centerpiece of the weekend was the Persian Ceremony, held in one of the castle’s most scenic courtyards. The Sofreh Aghd—the traditional wedding spread representing the couple’s new life together—was reimagined within the medieval stone walls, creating a stunning visual contrast between the delicate Persian artistry and the raw power of the fortress.

Design Concept: Vintage Allure & Architectural Florals

The creative direction leaned into the “Dramatic” brief, utilizing the castle’s verticality and historic texture.

• The Floral Narrative: Flowers Living designed a concept that emphasized structure and movement. Using a palette of deep botanical greens and ethereal whites, the floral installations felt like they were part of the castle’s natural growth, framing the mountain views without competing with the horizon.
• Dolce Vita Style: The “Vintage Inspired” theme was brought to life through curated details. Angela and Daniel’s arrival on a vintage Vespa added a touch of playful Italian charm, providing a perfect “Instagrammable” moment for their international guests.
• Bespoke Stationery: Pink Ink Studio crafted a suite that echoed the castle’s heraldry—refined, timeless, and tactile, introducing guests to the weekend’s sophisticated, editorial tone.

Gastronomy & The Art of the Feast

A castle wedding demands a banquet of legendary proportions. Alfonso Muzzi Ricevimenti curated a culinary journey that was as dramatic as the setting. From the long imperial tables set in the castle’s grand hall to the open-fire cooking that echoed medieval traditions, the dining experience was a masterclass in Umbrian excellence and modern service.

The atmosphere was further elevated by:

• The Production: Pagani Service provided a lighting design that transformed the castle after dark. Warm amber glows highlighted the texture of the ancient masonry, while the dance floor was energized with contemporary sound production.
• The Beauty Brief: Giulia Cresci curated a look for Angela that was “Vintage Romantic”—a timeless, radiant aesthetic that complemented her intricate bridal style and the dramatic Umbrian wind.

Capturing the Narrative: Lisa Poggi & Giulio Cantarella

To document a wedding of this visual depth, we collaborated with the legendary Lisa Poggi. Her photography style—noted for its editorial composition and emotional honesty—perfectly captured the scale of the castle and the intimacy of the Persian rituals. Giulio Cantarella provided the cinematic cinematography, creating a film that weaves together the mountain vistas and the vibrant colors of the Sofreh Aghd into a timeless narrative of love and heritage.
