Dunya & Harrison: A Timeless Roman Odyssey from the W to Villa Miani

The Vision: An Eternal City Masterpiece

For Dunya and Harrison, a sophisticated couple from the United States, Rome was not just a backdrop—it was a journey. They envisioned a three-day residency (June 16–18, 2025) that captured every facet of the city’s soul: its modern energy, its imperial history, and its hidden bohemian corners. IWP Italian Wedding Planners (part of the Sposiamovi group) designed a curated itinerary that allowed guests to inhabit the “Eternal City” in total exclusivity.

The aesthetic was defined as “Soft & Dreamy,” a deliberate choice to provide a romantic, ethereal contrast to the monumental stone and epic scale of Rome’s historic skyline.

Day 1: Modern Sophistication at W Rome

The celebration began at the W Rome, the city’s pinnacle of contemporary luxury. The welcome event set a cosmopolitan tone, blending high-fashion Roman style with the effortless energy of an American elite gathering. It served as the perfect “urban” introduction before the party ascended to the heights of the city.

Day 2: Neoclassical Grandeur at Villa Miani

For the wedding day, guests were transported to Villa Miani, a breathtaking neoclassical estate perched on the Monte Mario hill. Offering the most iconic “Terrace View” in the world, the villa overlooks the entirety of Rome, with the Dome of St. Peter’s standing in magnificent proximity.

The symbolic ceremony was held on the rooftop terrace, where Dunya and Harrison exchanged vows against a panoramic horizon. In a city of stone, the “Soft & Dreamy” brief was brought to life through a design that felt light, airy, and profoundly romantic, making the grand estate feel like an intimate private sanctuary.

Design Concept: Luminous Textures & Botanical Clouds

The creative direction focused on “Timeless” beauty, ensuring the design would look as elegant in fifty years as it did on the day.

• The Floral Narrative: Flowers Living executed a concept of “Botanical Clouds.” Using a palette of soft ivories, blush tones, and ethereal greenery, the floral installations followed the villa’s grand staircases and balustrades, softening the neoclassical lines with organic, romantic movement.
• The Beauty Brief: Inna Make Up curated a look for Dunya that was “Timeless Luminous”—a sophisticated, radiant style designed to glow under the Roman sun and remain flawless through an evening of dancing overlooking the city lights.
• The Lighting Narrative: As evening fell, the villa was transformed into a glowing jewel. The production highlighted the architectural scale of the estate while maintaining a soft, candlelit intimacy on the dinner tables.

Day 3: A Soulful Farewell at The Sanctuary Eco Retreat

To conclude the weekend, the mood shifted to the The Sanctuary Eco Retreat. This hidden gem in the heart of Rome offered a bohemian, “Eco-Chic” contrast to the previous day’s grandeur. It was a moment of soulful relaxation, allowing guests to toast to the new Mr. and Mrs. in a lush, tropical oasis before their departure.

To document a three-day event of such diverse atmospheres, we collaborated with Natalie Evans. Her photography is celebrated for its luminous, fine-art quality and its ability to capture the “Soft & Dreamy” essence of a celebration. Every frame of Dunya and Harrison’s wedding—from the modern lines of the W to the epic sunsets at Villa Miani—feels like an editorial dream, preserving the legacy of their Roman odyssey with grace and scale.
