For Emily and Bradley, a sophisticated couple from the United States, Lake Como was the only stage capable of hosting their vision of “Fine-Art Style” luxury. They sought a celebration that balanced the grand scale of the Larian landscape with the intimate, cinematic details of a private residency. IWP Italian Wedding Planners designed a two-day experience (July 20–21, 2025) that utilized the unique botanical terracing of Villa Cipressi to create a luminous, editorial atmosphere.

The Setting: A Botanical Masterpiece

The wedding journey began with a “First Look” at the neighboring Villa Monastero, providing a high-fashion architectural backdrop for the couple’s initial portraits. The celebration then moved to Villa Cipressi, where the symbolic ceremony was held on the lower terrace, suspended between the historic cypress trees and the deep blue of the lake.

For American couples seeking the “Varenna Lifestyle,” this venue offers an unparalleled sense of history and botanical beauty, acting as a private world far removed from the busier stretches of the lake.

Design Concept: “Fine-Art” Florals & Artisanal Details

The creative direction focused on “Luminous Textures,” ensuring the design felt light, airy, and profoundly romantic.

• The Floral Narrative: Elena Atabaeva executed a concept of “Cinematic Florals.” Using a palette of soft whites and organic, ethereal greenery, the floral installations followed the villa’s stone staircases, appearing to grow naturally from the historic walls.
• The Beauty Brief: Giulia Make Ups curated a look for Emily that was “Editorial Luminous”—a sophisticated, radiant style designed to glow under the mid-summer sun and transition into the candlelit evening gala.
• Bespoke Stationery: Vittorio Caselli designed a custom suite that introduced guests to the weekend’s high-editorial tone, reflecting the timeless soul of Varenna.
• Live Artistry: Adding a touch of interactive luxury, Il Lapis provided live guest portraits, creating a unique and tangible memory for the guests to take home.

Gastronomy & The Soundtrack of the Lake

The reception was a study in “Lake View” elegance. Tables were adorned with luxury rentals from Smacrent and bespoke napkins from Tablecloth Rental, creating a sophisticated alfresco dining experience under the stars.

• The Atmosphere: The energy of the day was meticulously paced, transitioning from the quiet emotion of the ceremony to a vibrant evening celebration led by Lake Como Wedding DJ, turning the historic gardens into the lake’s most exclusive lounge.

Capturing the Narrative: Julia Kaptelova & Merak Studio

To document a wedding of this specific “Fine-Art” scale, we collaborated with Julia Kaptelova. Her photography is celebrated for its luminous, editorial composition and its ability to capture the “soul” of a celebration. Complementing the photography, Merak Studio provided the cinematic cinematography, weaving together the sounds of the lake breeze and the intimate whispers of the vows into a world-class film legacy.
