When Jin and Gordon sought a location for their destination wedding, they desired a venue that whispered of history and exhaled luxury. They chose La Posta Vecchia, a legendary 17th-century villa built on the ruins of the ancient Roman city of Alsium. For this sophisticated couple, the wedding was a living film—a “Cinematic” experience where every frame was saturated with the blue of the Tyrrhenian Sea and the golden hues of Italian stone.

IWP Italian Wedding Planners, as part of the Sposiamovi collective, orchestrated a two-day event (June 27-28, 2025) that leaned into the “Stealth Wealth” aesthetic: a celebration that felt profoundly private, culturally rich, and visually spectacular.

The Setting: The Getty Legacy on the Tyrrhenian Sea

La Posta Vecchia is not merely a hotel; it is a museum of living history. Formerly the private retreat of billionaire J. Paul Getty, the villa houses a treasure trove of Renaissance furniture and Roman mosaics. For Jin and Gordon, it offered the ultimate “Sea View” canvas—a place where the sea breeze meets the scent of sun-drenched Italian gardens.

The ceremony was held on the villa’s terrace, a symbolic exchange of vows with nothing but the horizon as a backdrop. The sound of waves crashing against the stone walls provided a natural soundtrack, creating an atmosphere of raw, cinematic beauty that is rare to find so close to the Eternal City.

Design Concept: “Cinematic Luxury” & Orchestrated Light

The creative direction was guided by the principle of enhancing, not overshadowing, the villa’s existing grandeur.

• The Floral Narrative: Floreventi designed a concept that mirrored the coastal surroundings. Using architectural white blooms and sculptural foliage, the floral installations framed the sea views without obstructing them, creating a look that was clean, modern, and high-fashion.
• The Art of Lighting: Understanding the cinematic brief, Lampadoro and Città del Suono curated a lighting and audio design that transformed the villa after dark. Soft, amber glows highlighted the 17th-century masonry, while immersive soundscapes ensured every guest felt part of a private, curated world.

An Absolute Sensory Experience

Luxury is found in the details that guests feel but don’t see.

• The Table Architecture: Preludio Rentals and Tuscanlab collaborated on a tablescape that defined “Contemporary Heritage.” From the weight of the linens to the bespoke stationery, every element felt like a piece of the villa’s own history.
• The Climax: To honor the cinematic theme, the evening culminated in a breathtaking display by La Gica Pyrogiochi. A custom firework show launched directly over the sea, reflecting in the dark water and providing a grand finale that felt like the closing scene of a classic Italian film.
