The Vision: Intimacy as the Ultimate Luxury

For Katie and Nicholas, a sophisticated couple from the United States, the goal was to create a sanctuary of shared emotion. They sought a destination that felt like a private estate—a place where the grandeur of Lake Como could be experienced on a deeply personal scale. IWP Italian Wedding Planners (part of the Sposiamovi group) designed a bespoke experience on September 11, 2024, at Relais Villa Vittoria, focusing on an “Intimate Romantic” narrative that allowed the couple to fully inhabit the beauty of the Italian lake district.

This wedding was a masterclass in “Quiet Luxury,” where the small guest list allowed for a level of detail and personalization that is only possible in a truly private villa setting.

The Setting: A Secret Garden in Laglio

Relais Villa Vittoria is an architectural jewel situated in one of the lake’s most prestigious enclaves. Known for its lush botanical gardens and its proximity to the water, the villa offers a sense of “Boutique Luxury” that feels incredibly exclusive. For Katie and Nicholas, the villa acted as a private world, providing a seamless transition from the jasmine-scented gardens to the elegant lakeside terraces.

The symbolic ceremony was officiated by Como Lake Celebrant on the villa’s primary terrace. As the soft September light hit the water, the couple exchanged vows in a setting that was both monumental in scale and profoundly intimate in feel—a hallmark of the IWP approach to destination weddings.

Design Concept: “Ethereal Romance” & Botanical Clouds

The creative direction focused on “Soft Textures,” ensuring the visuals reflected the couple’s romantic vision.

• The Floral Narrative: Figli dei Fiori executed a concept of “Botanical Clouds.” Using a palette of soft whites and organic greenery, the floral design appeared to dance in the lake breeze, softening the villa’s historic stone and creating a romantic, ethereal atmosphere that felt like a dream come true.
• The Beauty Brief: The Studio Como curated a look for Katie that was the epitome of “Luminous Romance”—a timeless, radiant style designed to glow under the late-summer sun and transition beautifully into the candlelit evening.
• The Atmosphere of Light: Blunotte Eventi designed a lighting and audio scheme that was both subtle and transformative. As evening fell over Laglio, the villa was bathed in a warm, sophisticated glow, highlighting the architectural lines while maintaining an intimate, soulful energy.

Gastronomy & Cinematic Legacy

A wedding at Relais Villa Vittoria is a multi-sensory journey. The culinary program focused on high-end regional excellence, served alfresco under the villa’s romantic loggias, where the focus remained on the connection between the guests and the beauty of the lake.

• The Cinematic Narrative: Croitoru Video provided the cinematography, utilizing a cinematic, light-filled approach that captured the intimate whispers and the grand scale of the day into a world-class film legacy.

To document a wedding so focused on “Intimate” emotion, we collaborated with Garvana Photo. Their photography is celebrated for its ability to capture the authentic, unscripted moments of a celebration with an editorial, fine-art sensibility. Every frame of Katie and Nicholas’s wedding—from the quiet preparation in the villa’s suites to the joyful reception by the water—feels like a memory captured in a dream, preserving the legacy of their Lake Como union with grace and clarity.
