The Vision: Vertical Luxury and Historic Serenity

For Nicole and Alan, a sophisticated couple from the United States, the Amalfi Coast was the only stage grand enough for their union. They sought a venue that balanced the iconic “Amalfi Blue” with the silent, sacred history of the Italian south. IWP Italian Wedding Planners (part of the Sposiamovi group) orchestrated a bespoke celebration on May 22, 2025, at the Anantara Convento di Amalfi—a venue that is not just a hotel, but a 13th-century landmark carved into the limestone cliffs.

This wedding was a masterclass in “Romantic Elegance,” where the couple utilized the monastery’s ancient cloisters and white-washed loggias to create a contemporary editorial narrative that felt both deeply personal and globally aspirational.

The Setting: A 13th-Century Sanctuary Above the Sea

Anantara Convento di Amalfi offers a perspective of the coast that is truly celestial. Accessible via a lift cut into the rock or a winding historic staircase, the hotel feels like a private world. For Nicole and Alan, the highlight was the Civil Ceremony held on the panoramic terrace. While many coastal weddings are symbolic, a civil ceremony at this level of prestige is a logistical feat that IWP specializes in, providing the couple with a rare official union overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea.

The “Monk’s Walk”—a spectacular cliffside loggia—provided a cinematic backdrop for their portraits, offering a “Sea View” that captures the raw, jagged beauty of the Amalfi Coast in its most refined form.

Design Concept: “Stealth Wealth” & Botanical Sophistication

The creative direction focused on “quiet luxury,” allowing the venue’s historic textures to dictate the aesthetic.

• The Floral Narrative: Starace Florist designed a concept that emphasized “Elegant Romance.” Using a palette of soft creams, ivory, and sage, the floral installations followed the natural lines of the monastery’s architecture, creating a soft, botanical contrast to the white-washed stone walls and the deep blue of the sea.
• Bespoke Craftsmanship: Letteraventidue provided the stationery, which acted as a modern tribute to the venue’s monastic roots—minimalist, tactile, and effortlessly chic.
• Curated Tablescapes: The reception featured high-end rentals from Weddings & Co, creating a dining experience that felt like a private gala in a noble home, illuminated by the expert lighting design of Antares Events.

Gastronomy & The Soundtrack of the Coast

An Amalfi wedding is a celebration of light and sound. The evening began with the soulful melodies of Marco Cantarella, providing a sophisticated musical backdrop to the cocktail hour in the lemon-scented gardens.

• The Beauty Brief: Alessandro Mancino Studios curated a look for Nicole that was “Modern Luminous”—a timeless, elegant style that reflected the soft light of the coast in late May.
• The Celebration: As the sun dipped below the horizon, the energy shifted with DJ Filippo Di Costanzo. His set transformed the historic terrace into a high-energy, contemporary lounge, celebrating the new Mr. and Mrs. under a canopy of stars and the glow of the Amalfi harbor below.

To document a wedding of this architectural and emotional scale, we collaborated with Spazio 64. Their photography style—noted for its editorial composition and its ability to capture the “Stealth Wealth” aesthetic—perfectly preserved the legacy of Nicole and Alan’s celebration. Every frame highlights the intimate glances against the grand scale of the cliffs, ensuring their story is told with the depth of a high-fashion documentary.
